A New Look

Comforting Color

I’ve been so long away I thought I’d change my look and change my posting attitude. Not that many people keep a blog active any more, but I’d like to change my neglectful habits.

I’ve been cleaning my closet, fighting ants, finishing books, exercising and writing new things. I’ve also been painting my office. It’s a space over the detached garage the beloved built last fall. (Because doesn’t every man need two garages?) I was actually in the hospital with a bit of terrifying diabetic ketoacidosis when the builders finished. I couldn’t find the energy to paint for a little bit. Then the weather was too cold for paint to dry. Then I was so far behind on my work that I needed to write, rather than make a writing space. Now I’m enjoying new things!

Except it’s a little hot for painting. Upside–the paint dries quickly! I’ve felt like a slacker, not finishing the closet-cleaning at a record pace, but after the office is ready for habitation, I’ll have a place to transfer my goods.

I’ll also be putting down the most luxuriant carpet I can find–to make walking barefoot a pleasure. Then comes air conditioning. The beloved suggests heating as well, but–it is to laugh. If he were not living in our home, I’d never use the heat. I’m enjoying summer about as much as I usually do.

Not to be negative, but why must we have summer? Maybe that’s why I’m writing my third Christmas story in the space of twelve months.
