Breakfast with Bagels and Edits

Posted By on May 27, 2011

After lovely days with my family, I’m back at work. First I had to read what I’ve already written. I was steaming along, pleased, a little dismayed by a bump here or a typo there, in the first three chapters, because they’re already with the editor. But I was loving my characters and loving the story, anxious to write brand new pages.

Then I reached my latest chapter. I knew there were problems. I’ve only torn this thing apart once, and my process these days includes a complete refurbishment to make each chapter right. Holy moley. Who performed the character lobotomy on these two in this chapter? (I might have done that.)

I’m appalled that I thought this was good work, but–I have plenty to keep me busy!  :-)  Donning my hard hat and flexing my typing fingers! See you after my battle with these misbehaving words!
