Random Friday

This heat wave is making me feel random. We had a small break last night. The temps dropped by 20 degrees in a sudden storm that took out our satellite and infringed on So You Think You Can Dance. Fortunately, it came back up in time for Pasha’s breath-stealing performance! I love this show. So amazed at how folks can wield their bodies to tell stories. The control!
Update on yesterday’s possible pampering. I went. I decided to indulge. With jade, rather than an elegant dark red. Not sure how I feel about the color itself, but I definitely feel all girly and polished!
I’m about to abandon hearth and home to visit a beach. I rarely visit the beach in the summer because I cannot bear the unrelenting heat, but a friend asked me, and frankly, before I thought of the scourging temps, I’d agreed. Have loaded up the Kindle. Do you ever find you’re so busy you have no time to read? Remember Saturday mornings in the pre-marriage/pre-child years? Did you ever just lie in bed and read? Just read till you’d read your fill? That was my favorite thing about Saturday mornings when I was a child. (Oh, what a rowdy!) I never do that now. But I’m going to give it my best effort while abandoning the usual responsibilities.
Also hoping to carve out some writing hours. You know, when I’m not hammering the daylights out of crabshells! Oh, no–forgot to buy sunblock! Maybe the beloved will lend me some from his motorcycle saddlebags.
Better go see what else I’ve forgotten to pack!
