Random!

Today's random photo: My favorite plane, a WWII-era Corsair

I love random posts! Usually I choose to do one when I’m too busy to try an arc. All writers go to their true north for any piece of writing–an arc with a beginning, middle, and an end.

On random days, I choose to be arc-less, unless I can’t help myself, and one creeps in.

I jinxed us with my talk of cooler days. @*#*@($ Summer!

I love coffee. I haven’t always. I used to drink tea when everyone else had coffee. Except in Paris, where my husband had a morning cup of coffee with his pain, but I had a delicate little pot of the most delicious hot chocolate I have ever–E-V-E-R–had in my entire life. In fact, I believe I can taste that hot cocoa right now. It’s branded on the memory of my taste buds. But, I randomly digress (and spit an infinitive!). Over the years, I’ve come to love coffee. Honestly, I have loved a hint of coffee in my sugar and cream. When I told my aunts of my daughter’s affection for the cream, they said that apple didn’t fall far from the tree! This summer I’ve been trying to cut down on the sugar. The cream is here to stay. I use fat-free, so I’m feeling all virtuous about that! As of this week, I am sugarless with the coffee. I had an iced cafe latte on the way home yesterday–no sugar.

Yesterday, at the gym, my daughter asked a man if he minded if she changed the television station on the TV in front of her treadmill. (Must admit that like a bad mom, I had my headphones on instead of listening to the end of this exchange.) He said he didn’t mind as he came to the gym to exercise, not to watch TV. Then, because he was clearly feeling random, too, he added, “It’s like driving and texting.”

I saw the girl laugh, but it turns out her laughter was a polite way to go, “huh?” So, kudos to cranky stranger man on insulting a young girl and then randomly tacking on a life lesson. He did get to enjoy thirty-five minutes of RHONY, but I fear that may have been a random occurrence in his life.*

Wishing you an excellent Wednesday, which begins, middles, and ends with happiness and productivity!

*The girl doesn’t drive and text; she does tread and TV.
