Writing, Building Baskets, Rejoicing in Good Friends

Posted By on September 3, 2009

Having Internet access issues. Again. Oh, for the DSL so many take for granted. Instead, out in the wilderness (six miles from the center of town!) we make do with catch-as-catch-can.

I’m making baskets for Georgia Romance Writers’ Moonlight and Magnolia’s Conference. I can’t attend the conference this year, and I probably wouldn’t have remembered to put a basket together except my friend, Kate Walker let me know she’d like to do one again. Last year, she also graciously donated a lovely basket that included several of her beautiful novels and her excellent reference The 12-Point Guide to Writing Romance. (A must-have!) So, thanks to Kate, I’m getting my stuff together, and Kate is sending her things. Visit the open-to-the public signing from 4-5:30 on Saturday, October 3 to take a chance on winning something from many GRW authors and writers who love our chapter!  :-)

Kate also gave me some excellent advice on my wip–hence the rejoicing!

Back to work to take her advice!  :-)

Believe me I was happy to help. I just hope that ‘lightbulb’ moment carries your new WIP forward – I’d love to read it. And thank you for taking my basket to the conference for me.

    Hey, Kate!

You are such a kind person–thanks again–your advice has really helped. I’m editing chapters with new insight because I want them right before I redo the synopsis. It’s at the point where I have to make sure the parts of the book after the initial three chapters are as strong as the pages I know intimately!

It’s no trouble at all to help with the basket. The chapter really appreciates your help, and you know there’ll be a happy raffle winner!
