Belated Now She’s Back!

I’m not even going to try to explain my long absence. I’ve been busy and learning a new way to live because I’m living with diabetes, and I had to change priorities. But, I seem to be handling exercise and learning what to eat and how much of it, and grocery shopping for a new lifestyle, and cooking three times a day. 3 x/day. (Who does that?) So, I thought I’d just swan back in and pretend I hadn’t disappeared.

Now She’s Back

I had a book out in December. Now She’s Back is the first in a series of three books set in Bliss, Tennessee, a winter resort deep in the Smokies. Here’s the back cover copy. “When Emma Candler returned to Bliss, Tennessee, after four long years trying to find—or lose—herself, she was intent on restoring more than just her nan’s termite-tortured old house. She had her life and her dignity to rebuild, too. Every small-town gossip knew all about the family fiasco she had fled from, and the fiancé she had hoped would follow. But Noah Gage wasn’t a follower. And he didn’t seem too pleased to see her back…or impressed with her attempts to make amends. Maybe there was nothing left between them. But Emma had to try to make things right.”

I loved writing that book. I was stuck in the beginning because I was trying so hard to share my love of the Smokies and my Tennessean family, but then I thought about Thanksgiving at my grandma’s house, and all of a sudden, the words began to flow. I hope if you read it, it will bring back memories of your life with your family, too!

I’m working on a new book right now that will be out next Christmas. So–I’m celebrating Christmas in Bliss right now. Even though it’s nearly February, and have you ever noticed how Valentine’s is truly centered on candy? Or do I digress–I’m listening to Bing Crosby, crooning “White Christmas,” and my favorite, Eartha Kitt’s “Santa Baby.” She sounds so delightfully wicked, I don’t even mind the avarice! Plus, we’re having another summery winter, so I don’t mind pretending there’s frightfully snowy weather outside, and ice on the windows and holiday joy in the air.

I love joy in the air! Hope you’re having some January joy, too! See you again, a whole lot sooner than last time!
