From Sea to Shining Sea

Posted By on July 5, 2011

I should have posted this photo yesterday. It’s from our river cruise through the marshes recently, but it’s definitely a shining sea!

Yesterday, I spent most of the 4th alone. I took the time to clean my somewhat revolting abode and whip up caprese and some mac and cheese for a potluck dinner with friends. After dinner, I made a yummy cake. (WW recipe: Betty Crocker’s Angel Food Cake mix, with a can of crushed pineapple in its own juice. Cook at 350 for 38 minutes. Taste a morsel of manna! Actually, I don’t think manna could be that light with no leavening.) And then, to the accompaniment of organic fireworks (amazing thunder and lightning), I did about a month’s worth of laundry.

And this is my new goal. No travel.  (Maybe not so true!) But I’ve now been home long enough to put away laundry and recognize that if I don’t schedule closet-cleaning time, the house may tip under the closet’s weight.

After all that, only one thing left to do. Leap into my story! And I’m gonna do that again right now!
