Randomness

Stunned to find we have Internet access, I believe it’s time for a random thought day. (Okay, so I haven’t been asleep and random is about the best I can do.)

How many cups of coffee do you pour yourself before you drink a full cup? (Waste = Bad, so I’m not confessing–just wondering if I’m the only one who can’t seem to remember that cup of deliciousness awaits me!)

Watching Medium in the middle of the night can be creepy when a lady ghost is rather angry at Alison (not sure that’s how her name’s spelled. Sorry!)

Watching DVR’d episodes of Ghost Hunters in the middle of the night is always creepy.

While watching Medium in the middle of the night, I caught a commercial for an upcoming Lifetime movie. There were folks chatting. Behind them, I saw this church that looked just like one at the corner of our little town square. Then they showed the movie’s title. Some time ago–maybe even a year or more–my girl and I were wandering the square in search of food when we noticed one corner totally roped off and a theatre tarped up in black. Just as we were wondering if it would be rude to ask a “movie guy” (we could tell because of the cameras and the trucks and stuff) what they were shooting, the movie guy asked us if we’d like to be extras. We had to say no because my girl had a heavy burden of homework, but we asked the movie’s name. Sure enough–this is that movie. It shouldn’t have been so weird, probably, but I recognized “home” before I remembered the movie-filming.

I’m watching Tora! Tora! Tora! for probably the fifteenth or so time. I’ve never managed to actually see the whole thing.  (Tying this bit o’ random to the one above, I recognize several settings in TTT because we lived in Hawaii, and I worked at Wheeler AFB for some time.)  There are still shell holes in some of the buildings at Hickham and Schofield. And the oil still leaks from the Arizona, as if it were bleeding.  I think that must be why someone made up the word “gut-wrenching.”

I didn’t mean to get all somber. Wishing you all a good night–even though morning has somehow arrived.
